One-to-One Therapy
As you can see from the information on the previous pages, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy can be effective for a number of difficulties. I generally offer one-to-one work but am happy to welcome partners or other family members/close friends into occasional sessions at your specific request. (These sessions would be charged at the usual rate.)
In my experience, this can be helpful if you would like help in developing the knowledge and understanding of loved ones about your experience. For example, so they can feel more comfortable about how to offer support when you might need it, or so they can understand why you might behave in specific ways (e.g. checking with obsessive-compulsive disorder) and how best to respond/not to respond.
Fees & pricingClinical Supervision
I am an experienced clinical supervisor, both of CBT practice and of mental health nurses. My approach is a blend of supportive, laid-back and fairly structured (for example, drawing out conceptualisations together). I also like to apply clinical discussions to case studies, to aid learning and memory. I believe supervision can be enjoyable as well as an important aspect of one’s practice.
Fees & pricingConsultancy and training
I am able to provide consultancy work, either as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist or Mental Health Nurse (or incorporating both aspects of expertise) – for example by coming into a service for a day or more to provide supervision or training to clinical staff.
If you are looking for somebody to facilitate a workshop about a specific mental health issue or aspect of CBT, please contact me and I will be happy to discuss your requirements and how I could address them.
